HEDDA GABLER BBC RADIO 4 SATURDAY DRAMA.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After working as Associate Director for the Old Vic<\/a> production Directed by Anna Mackmin, Anna generously passed the opportunity to direct Brian Friel\u2019s adaptation of Ibsen\u2019s classic \u2018Hedda Gabler\u2019 for BBC Radio 4 to me!<\/p>\n

People often say that the work they most enjoy is the work they are currently making, in some respects i find this true. However every now and again you choose certain ingredients and when mixed together they make something remarkable and unrepeatable, as all good things should be. This production was one of those and all down to a brave and brilliantly talented cast and endlessly talented creative and production team. Too many names to mention tirelessly working right till the last performance of the tour. CALENDAR GIRLS by Tim Firth\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having worked as Associate Director on the Original UK Premiere of Calendar Girls by Tim Firth and then for its West End run. I was given the opportunity to direct the New 2010 UK Tour with its original leading lady Lynda Bellingham and Colin Tarrant, sadly both no longer with us today but not forgotten for their great talents.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomehow the huge thrust stage of the Festival Theatre manages to create an intimate atmosphere with the surrounding audience, and we seem to be living the story with these women following their hopes, fears and triumphs. This production directed by Psyche Stott lives up to all expectations\u201d<\/em>

The Pub Quiz<\/em> tour was the first production for the North East Theatre Consortium, a partnership of receiving venues and New Writing North, aiming to develop, produce and tour the best new writing from the region. \u00a0 Tour venues included;\u00a0Queens Hall, Hexham, Customs House, South Shields, Arc, Stockton on Tees, Alnwick Playhouse, Northern Stage, Newcastle. Selling out at Northern Stage with extra performances added.<\/p>\n
